Finishing date: September 2024. Photographed by Natalia Salazar October 2024.
It started with a green coat. I had moved to Bergen (where it rains all the time), but was in Stockholm for a visit and came across this bright green raincoat with padded lining, Danish design. I just love colorful coats (and refuse to wear black in winter), and so, I bought it.
A bit later, while looking for something else in a store, I saw a basket full of bright green umbrellas. The exact same color as my coat. I just had to buy it.
And then, there was the shirt: I needed something with long sleeves and I was really looking for something more neutral, but when I saw the bright green linen shirt on the rack, I just couldn’t help myself.
Bergen has so many yarn stores. In the city center (which can be crossed on foot in 30 minutes), there are at least six stores dedicated to yarn and knitting equipment. If I have some time to kill, I like to drop in, check out what’s new, what’s on sale, just enjoy the colors, textures, the atmosphere. It was during one of those random drop-ins in one of the stores that I found, in a for-sale basket, a handful of skeins of fine alpacka yarn in bright green. I simply didn’t have a choice – and then I made a hat + scarf + gloves set in bright green, with stripes from other leftover yarns.
So that is how I ended up with this incredibly green outfit. Photographed by @salazarprops last October. (Her favorite of the photos was the last one, so I included it for her. She said it looks like a photo taken for a boy band poster.)
