A Sunday in April 2021, Natalia styled and I photographed Josh as the Lord of Spring. It was one of those April days, when the sun shines, you go pick wood anemones for a crown – and then, suddenly, it’s snowing. Still, it was lovely spending time among the trees together with Josh and Natalia.
And I think, at some point, I did have an idea about writing something cute, a story of some kind, about the Lord of Spring. But no. Thesis got in the way, and now the only thing I want to say is: If there’s anyone who deserves a jumper, it is Josh. He plays on my out-of-tune piano whenever he visits and always says yes to my crazy ideas, from being photographed in a freezing April forest to providing the instrumental track to a corny music video I’m making. He always answers when I call, never loses patience with my ramblings. I never tire of talking with him, the range of topics we can cover. He makes me laugh, and feel safe.
So. That’s Josh. In an Icelandic jumper. Beautiful, inside and out.
