Just when Bergen got it’s first snow in December 2022, I left for the mountains. A weekend in Ustaoset in a mountain-side cabin with friends, snow-shoeing, skiing (not for me, though, because: I had had appendicitis surgery 3 weeks earlier…), hot chocolate in front of the fire. It was the kind of cold where your eyelashes freeze, the low sun creating a prism of glittering ice flakes across the sky.
Cold, yes, but not too cold for my new jumper. Adapted from Filcolana Neptun by G Juhler, made with Wool and the Gang yarn Sugar Baby Alpaca. The softest, warmest thing you could imagine.
(The sun on the snow, though. So bright it hurts.)
